Santa came to visit our mobile groomer Sonya and one of her favorite customers, Dudley. When Dudley's not hamming it up for the camera he spends his free time volunteering at Life Care Center of Charleston.

.Although summer is not officially here, you would never know by looking at your thermometer. We have a few common sense tips to help your pet beat the heat 

It is only common sense to avoid hot places.  Just as a human can suffer from heat, your dog can also become sick or even die. 

Always provide a source of drinking water.  Make sure it is fresh and cool.  Remember, dehydration can occur with dogs just like with humans.  Your dog gets rid of heat through panting, or through the pads of its feet.

Little Known Dog Facts:

1) Seventy-eight (78) percent of the owned dogs in the United States are spayed or neutered.

2) According to the AKC the most popular names for dogs are Lady and Bear.

3) The average pet owner in the United States will spend $1,425 per dog each year on surgical vet visits, dog food, kennel boarding, routine vet care,  grooming care, vitamins, treats and toys.

4) Dogs sweat from the pads of their paws.They discharge heat by panting.

The Memorial Day weekend is upon us and it would appear everyone is bringing their pups in to get all dolled up (we're not complaining !) As you make plans to enjoy time with your families please set aside some time to remember all of the veterans who gave their lives in service to our country.
